What: Auditions for The Shelburne Players’ production of the play by Annie Baker, directed by Kimberly Rockwood and produced by Karlie Kauffeld.
When: Tuesday, June 6 and Wednesday, June 7, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:30 PM (pick just one night to attend). If you cannot attend either night, please email director Kimberly Rockwood at kimberly.rockwood@gmail.com to set up a virtual audition. If needed, callbacks will take place on Tuesday, June 13 from 6:00 to 8:30 PM.

About the cast of Circle Mirror Transformation:
There are roles for 3 females and 2 males. All cast members must be comfortable and able to get down onto, and up from, the floor.

Marty, 55: Co-executive director of the Community Center, and teacher of this first adult creative drama class (as well as many other classes offered at the center). Married to James, who is in the class. She is a product of the 1960’s.

James, 60: Went through law school, landed a job, but on the day of the bar exam, decided he didn’t want to participate in a “flawed system”. Has a daughter, Erin, from 1st marriage who is currently not speaking to him. She is, however, speaking to his current wife Marty. He is also a product of the 1960’s.

Schultz, 48: Recently divorced craftsman who creates artisan chairs. He is emotionally reeling from his divorce, which was unexpected. He still wears his wedding ring a year later.

Theresa, 35: (Character must know how to hula-hoop). Recent transplant from NYC (and escaping a toxic relationship) where she was an actor. Moved to VT as she felt she couldn’t really reach people through acting, so is now studying for a certificate in acupressure. Looking for a new start to her life.

Lauren, 16: A sophomore in HS, she wants to study theater and dance in college. Also interested in being a veterinarian. Parents are Lebanese and Irish. They met while in college in the U.S. & stayed. Her father has had trouble with the law which has impacted her family.
